Charles Arthur Weber III

	Charles Arthur 'Chase' Weber III, age 10, of Murphysboro, passed away at 5:07 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2003 at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky as a result of fatal injuries after being struck by a pickup truck as he was crossing Dixie Highway in Louisville, Ky.
	Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 4 at the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Dennis Fitzsimmons officiating.  Entombment was at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park.  Friends called from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Pettett Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin.
	The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Chase's Memorial Fund in care of his parents.
	Chase was born on March 24, 1983 in Carbondale to Charles A. Weber Jr. and Kim (Laffoon) Weber.  He was a Fifth Grader and straight-A student at Immanuel Lutheran School in Murphysboro.  He played basketball on the Grade School team.  He played MBI Baseball and was on numerous All Star Teams in MBI.  He played Fall Baseball with Christ Lutheran's team in Jacob.
	Chase loved to fish and he played the guitar.
	He was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin.
	He is survived by his parents; one sister, Hayley Elizabeth Weber of Murphysboro; his grandparents, Raymond and Nancy Laffoon of Du Quoin and Mary Jo Weber of Murphysboro; one uncle, Gale and wife Becky Laffoon of Du Quoin; two aunts, Cindy and husband Duane Burke and Mary and husband Jerry Peeler of Murphysboro; cousins, Gale Laffoon Jr., Chelsey Laffoon, Amy Burke, Patrick  Burke, Josh Peeler and Cole Peeler; three great-aunts, Jean Harlan and Pearl Harlan, both of Du Quoin and Ruth Spires of Carbondale and one great-uncle, Fred and wife Mary Kilmer of Goreville.
	He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles A. Weber Sr. and a great-aunt, Helen Watson.
